Between Temporariness and Durability: The Evolving Legal Landscapes and Everyday Lives ofDisplaced Ukrainians in Europe

On the 8th of May 2026 Kamila Fiałkowska and Elżbieta Mirga-Wójtowicz from the CMR UW took part in a workshop devoted to discussing the evolution, fragmentation and sustainability of legal and policy
landscapes for displaced Ukrainians across Europe.

Our team members specifically focused on the imact they have on the lived experiences of displaced persons, discussing the situation of Ukrainian Roma in Poland’s collective acommodation centres for displaced Ukrainians. The workshop took part within the framework of RESTART. Labour market experience of post-temporary protection Ukrainians in the EU project, run by Viktoryia Vaitovych at Ca Foscari University of Venice.
