Kamila Fiałkowska
Kamila Fiałkowska is an assistant professor at the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw. She obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Political Studies and International Relations at the University of Warsaw in 2018. Additionally, she holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Wroclaw (2008) and an MA in Migration Studies from the University of Sussex (2009).
Her research focuses on various aspects of emigration from Poland, with a particular emphasis on seasonal migration from Poland to Germany, post-accession emigration of Poles to the UK, and migration of Polish Roma. Her interests span issues of inequalities, religion, family relations, gender, national and ethnic identities. Kamila is also a member of the Researchers on the Border collective, which is dedicated to critical reflection and documentation of the humanitarian crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border.
She has contributed to several research projects concerning migrations of Polish Roma. Her work aims to deepen understanding of the intersections between gender, ethnicity, and migration dynamics.
She is a PI of the ROCIT project. Within the project, she is particularly interested in inequalities related to Roma experiences of citizenship in the forced migration context.
