ROCIT’s team member, Elżbieta Mirga-Wójtowicz attended the Roma Civil Monitoring Workshop for civil society organizations in Budapest, organized by the CEU Democracy Institute, Fundación Secretariado Gitano, European Roma Rights Centre, and ERGO Network.
During the 3-day workshop, participants engaged in a range of activities: Received comprehensive updates on EU policies impacting Roma communities, ensuring all are informed of the latest developments. Evaluated the effectiveness of advocacy activities conducted by civil society organizations (CSOs) under the RCM initiative, sharing successes and identifying areas for improvement. Explored new digital tools designed to enhance reporting and communication, aimed at making advocacy efforts more efficient and impactful. Guided on developing detailed monitoring reports for the second phase of the National Strategic Framework for Roma, a critical component for tracking progress and accountability.
The workshop also fostered stronger international cooperation and networking among NGOs, enabling a collaborative approach to Roma equality and advocacy efforts.
